Sleep Solutions services to support your autistic child develop healthy sleep routines and habits

Sleep Solutions

Sleep is so important for all members of the household, so we’ve developed a set of programs to get the whole family snoring in sync.

We offer individualised research based sleep programs. We can either provide you with the plan to implement or can attend home consultation visits during the day and evening to provide you with the extra support you may need to complete this important journey.

This service is best suited for neurodivergent children specifically autism, ADHD, global developmental delay or intellectual disability, who actively avoid or delay going to bed and then have difficulty dropping off to sleep. Or for autistic children who don’t currently sleep in their own bed or wake too early in the mornings or throughout the night. You can explore the two Sleep Solution options available at Super Kids below.

Sleep Support // In home session

Have a professional sleep consultant in your home during either day or evening to help settle your child and establish ground rules for bedtime. Then ongoing telehealth support will be provided for 6 weeks.

Sleep Support // Online support

Get an individualised sleep plan for your child, including solutions to common sleep challenges, with email, telehealth and phone support throughout the 6 week process.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

We offer an initial 15 minute discovery call for free. During this time, we can decide what is the best service for you and your family. Please contact [email protected] to book a discovery call.

At Super Kids, we use the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) to create an evidence-based, individualised sleep program to help create meaningful change in your child’s sleep. Our point of difference is that our Sleep Consultants specialise in supporting neurodivergent children with their sleep, including autism, ADHD or intellectual disability.

Our Super Kids Sleep Consultants are Certified Behaviour Analysts (CBAs), meaning we use the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA ) to develop our sleep programs. Our expertise is in assessment and analysis. Upon commencing behavioural sleep intervention, we work with your family to assess and identify the reason for your child’s sleep difficulties. Our sleep programs are based on peer-reviewed research, data of your child’s individual sleep patterns and ongoing collaboration with your family. This allows us to create a comprehensive, individualised sleep intervention that works for your family. Furthermore, our Sleep Consultants have experience in supporting neurodivergent children with their sleep, specifically autism, ADHD or intellectual disability.

Supporting autistic and neurodivergent children is our specialty. We can support all children regardless of a diagnosis, but this is an area that we specialise in. If you have any particular questions about how this might look for your family or if there is anything in particular we should be aware of, we can discuss this during our complimentary Discovery Call.

This depends on your child’s current sleep behaviour, the environment and how long these sleep difficulties have already been occurring for. This is something that we can discuss during our initial discovery call.

If additional supports are needed, this will be discussed between yourself and your Sleep Consultant at the time and an additional hours and ongoing support can be provided.

All Sleep Solutions programs are supervised by a Certified Behaviour Analyst (CBA) and Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) who has specialised in sleep intervention. All Sleep Solutions programs are designed, implemented and supervised by a Sleep Consultant and implemented by caregivers each evening. Your Sleep Consultant will provide ongoing supervision of your child’s sleep intervention. This will include daily check-ins, support on the first evening of intervention, programming and regular meetings to discuss your child’s progress with the sleep intervention.

Our Sleep Consultants are experienced in a range of evidence-based sleep interventions. Before beginning sleep intervention, our Sleep Consultant will review your child’s current sleep behaviours and identify the likely reason for their sleep difficulties. We then implement a custom-made program for your child’s individual needs. There are various evidence-based interventions that we can recommend based on the assessment conducted, parent preference and best practice. Your Sleep Consultant will work with you to develop a sleep program in line with your family’s values.

Throughout our sleep programs, we prioritise the safety and dignity of your child. Although there may be times when your child may cry or become upset, our goal is to support your child to communicate their needs and sleep successfully without distress. We do not encourage the use of cry-it-out or extinction-only procedures. We aim for the sleep program to be a positive and fun experience for your child and family.

If your child is a NDIS participant, then The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) will fund this services for autistic children and other developmental disorders, including our online courses and individualised plan services. Super Kids is not currently a registered NDIS provider, however, funding can still be used
